No one loves the pale, stuck inside all year round look. It gives the impression of being tired, our favorite outfits don’t have the same wow factor, and many of us lack that boost of confidence we get from beautifully tanned skin. When we make a trip to a tanning salon, there are two options: a tanning bed, and/or a spray tan. If you have never been to a tanning salon before, you may be wondering which is best for you, for your skin, and other important details about each process. So before you visit Nova Tans in Windsor, here are some helpful tips to help you choose which method of achieving a healthy glow is right for you.
Spray Tan vs. Tanning Bed
Tanning Beds
The relaxing, easy, and quick method to gain a beautiful complexion, tanning beds use synthetic UV rays to add some color to your skin. Also known as sunless tanning, you can simply visit a tanning salon and spend anywhere from two to five minutes catching some rays to up to 15 minutes per session in the bed.
When you first start out, you want to tan for short amounts of time to give your skin a base tan. As your skin becomes more and more tan and lush, you can add more time onto each session to achieve the color you desire. Results from a tanning bed typically lasts about two to three weeks and the color will begin to fade, just like a regular sunbathing tan would. To keep a consistent color on your skin, schedule regular visits at Nova Tans every one to two weeks.
Sessions at our Windsor tanning salon vary in cost depending on the equipment you want to use.
- The Matrix uses both UVA and UVB rays to give you a long-lasting, deep tan.
- With the Grand, ibed, you can get a beautiful tan with just three or four sessions and UVA facial tanners focus on your face and neck.
- The Grand Stand-Up style bed gives you a 360 degree tan in nine minutes with three or four sessions.
- For people who are ready for a longer tanning session, the Elite is a 20-minute bed and needs seven to eight sessions to achieve a base tan.
Spray Tan
A quick, and completely safe method of getting the color you want, Nova Tans uses VersaSpa and a fine mist of DHA (dihydroxyacetone) to give your skin a deep color.
Because you don’t need to start by building a base tan, you can regularly visit Nova Tans for a quick spray. This type of tan typically lasts around one week and then the tan will begin to fade. Spray tans are great for quick results when you’re heading off on a vacation or have a special event coming up. We offer an extended tan or extended tan with instant bronzer for an immediate tan. Both methods of tanning are offered at our tanning salon in Windsor and we can’t wait to get started helping you build a beautiful and healthy tan.
